Why schools work with us

Our skilled staff will teach your children with our sessions, reaching your learning objectives whilst adding more depth to your existing pe offering. Our sessions improve children’s health and confidence whilst developing their physical skills and abilities.

We work with the school to bring sessions to the children which they have not tried before and are happy to provide analytics to show progress of your pupils.

Lack of outdoor time means that young children are not physically developing as well as previous generations as they are spending less time being active.

This generation of electronic obsessed youngsters will struggle with ill health and poor self-esteem unless school and government do as much as possible to offer increased levels of activity.

Schools are more time and budget stretched than ever before and we at Urban Movement Primary are happily helping many schools to fill that gap.

We appreciate Schools are more time and budget stretched than ever before, which is why our skilled staff will teach your children to reach your learning objectives whilst adding more depth to your existing PE offering helping many schools to fill the gap.

We are keen advocates of fundamental movement and teach this through the use of physical literacy. We teach over 77 sessions per week in and around Leicestershire & Rutland and deliver sessions to more than 2000 pupils per week.

We work with children from pre school to year six and deliver lessons which meet with Department of Education and Ofsted standards.

The criteria of the government Sports Premium fund is met by all of our services.

Our work

  • engages all pupils in regular activity regardless of ability
  • raises the profile of pe school wide
  • increase the knowledge of your staff and teachers
  • offers a broader spectrum of sporting activities and is inclusive as well as being fun.
  • is offered as bespoke sessions as well as existing sessions
  • engages pupils in new activities and sports which in turn develops many different physical skills
  • encourages less active children to participate and enjoy sport
  • improves confidence and self esteem
  • can be delivered as intervention sessions

We are keen advocates of Fundamental Movement and teach this through all our sessions but specifically through the use of our specialised Physical Literacy project.  Physical literacy is the key to being active for life.  In partnership with Active Rutland we conducted Fundamental Assessments with 790 Key Stage 1 and EYFS children across Rutland.  Approximately half of these children were identified to receive further Physical Literacy Intervention sessions.  These sessions were specific fundamental skills to develop their basic core movement skills.  64% of these children improved significantly increasing their overall scores by 2 levels.
