Scooters/Balance Bikes/ Cycling – something for everyone

Balance bikes

Our balance bike sessions are a fun, confidence-building way to help children get active and take their first steps towards cycling.

With no pedals to worry about, children focus on balance, coordination, steering and stopping — making the move to a pedal bike smoother and less daunting.

Urban Movement Primary provides the bikes, helmets, equipment and instructors for sessions in schools, nurseries and community settings.

Groups are usually 6–8 riders, with each group riding for around 25 minutes per session over three weeks. Get in touch for prices and bookings.

What teachers say about these sessions –

The Balance Bikes sessions with Ineke were fantastic. She engaged all of the children throughout and ensured everyone was included and enjoying themselves. The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and still ask when they can do more.

Over the weeks, the children gained a great deal of confidence and developed their cycling skills significantly. It was wonderful to see some children progress to gliding confidently on their balance bikes and increasing their speed. We have seen a real improvement in both their confidence and coordination, and we would highly recommend these sessions.
